About Us
Freed is built by Vidus6, a small independent mobile app studio founded in 2024. We make focused tools for everyday life — and Freed is the one we take most seriously.
Who we are
Vidus6 is an independent app studio based in Turkey. We build and maintain our own apps rather than take client work, which means the roadmap answers to the people using the app and nobody else. Freed exists because quitting is mostly won in the small moments — the twenty minutes after dinner, the first coffee, the stressful call — and those moments happen away from a clinic. We built something that is in your pocket during them: a counter that makes the progress real, a breathing exercise for the peak of a craving, and a coach that answers at 3am.
What Freed is, and is not
Freed is a behaviour-support and tracking app. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose anything, and it does not replace your doctor, pharmacist or a national quitline. The recovery milestones we show are drawn from published public-health timelines and describe a typical course — your own recovery depends on how long and how much you smoked, and on your health. If you are pregnant, have a heart or lung condition, or are considering nicotine replacement therapy or prescription cessation medication, talk to a healthcare professional first. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency service or quitline rather than an app.
How we handle your data
Your quit date, cravings, streak and journal entries are stored on your device. There is no account to create and no sign-up wall — you can install the app and start a quit plan without giving us an email address. We do not sell data, and we do not share anything about your smoking history or your health with advertisers. The website uses privacy-respecting analytics that you can decline, and the full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
How we write this site
The guides on our blog are written and reviewed by our own team, and we update or remove a page when it stops being accurate rather than leaving it up for the traffic. Because this is health content, we hold it to a stricter standard than the rest of our writing: claims about withdrawal, recovery timelines or medication are sourced from public-health bodies and peer-reviewed literature rather than from other blogs, we say when evidence is mixed, and we do not promise outcomes. Nothing on this site is personalised medical advice. If you find something wrong here, tell us and we will fix it.
